Mrs. Julia Sloan Holloway, 77, died Saturday August 1, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday 11 AM at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor and Rev. Nancy Scarbrough will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6 to 8 PM at Kimbrell-Stern.
A native of West Palm Beach, FL, Mrs. Holloway had lived in Albany since 1954. She was the Co-founder and operator of Modern Gas and the Business Manager of Albany Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki. Mrs. Holloway graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Education. She was a charter member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church, the Charity League Albany serving as President, a hospital volunteer and an avid camper and boater.
Survivors include her husband Dan Holloway, Albany; sons, Wilson Holloway and wife Donna, Steven Holloway and wife Kelly, Mark Holloway and wife Glenda, all of Albany; grandchildren, Rachel Holloway, Katy Holloway, Katie Holloway, Callie Holloway, Jenny Holloway, Jill Holloway, Alexandria "Alex" Holloway; sisters, Jean Graves, Vero Beach, FL, Jane Banack, Ft. Pierce, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
