ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some Albany homeowners learning what they can to fight back against criminals.

Saturday afternoon at the district four precinct on East Oglethorpe, about two dozen homeowners, most form the Eastown Subdivision, got tips on how to protect their homes from burglars.

One of the most important tips they learned at the meeting was to get to know their neighbors.

Also don't give burglars the tools to do their job.

"Leaving tools outside of your yard, such as a ladder, if you have one leaning on the house they can use it to climb into a window or screwdrivers any type of tools that a burglar can use to break into your home," said Jerome Lowery, Neighborhood Watch Captain.

The neighborhood watch group meets the second Saturday of every month at the District four precinct.
