Mr. John William Parrott, Jr. 89, of Somerset Rd. in Albany died July 10, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 10 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Rev. Finbarr Stanton officiating. Committal services to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.
A native of Brooklyn, NY and raised in Forest Hills, NY , Mr. Parrott has lived in Albany since 1987 where he was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, enjoyed the game of golf, member of the Elks Lodge, and a former member of a local bowling league. Mr. Parrott was retired from Sperry Unisys Corp. with 36 years of service. He also served in the United States Coast Guard as rank of petty officer during World War II.
Survivors include his wife , Anne G. Parrott of Albany, daughters, Eileen Parrott of Albany, and Meri Erickson and her husband Dick of Albany, grandchildren, 1St Lt. Adam Erickson, Michael Erickson and Hope Erickson, sister, Florence Schmuck of Forest Hills, NY, one niece and numerous nephews.
A prayer service will be Monday 6:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM.
