Clifford Arthur Brown

Clifford Arthur Brown, 89, of Albany, GA, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at his home.

His funeral service will be FRIDAY at 11 AM at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens.  Bobby Marshall and Charles Graham will officiate. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Thursday from 6:30-8:30 PM.

A native of Thomas County, GA, he had lived in Albany for many years.  He was a member of the Albany Gospel Chapel and was a co-owner of Brown Floor Covering.  Mr. Brown served in the US Army during WWII and saw action in the campaigns of Northern France, the Rhineland, and Central Europe.  During those campaigns, he received the Purple Heart. 

He was a member of the Walter H. Burt American Legion Post 30 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Morris Brown.

Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter:  Pam Hardy, Albany; 2 grandchildren:  Michael Hardy, Jr., Albany, Sabrina Peters, Albany; 3 great-grandchildren:  Clifford Hardy, Lebanon, TN, Max Peters, Albany, Emma Peters, Albany; 3 brothers:  David Brown, Thomasville, GA, Albert E. Brown, Leesburg, GA, Louis Brown, Boston, GA; a sister:  Doris Busbee, Leesburg, GA.
