ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Symphony hopes a weekend fundraiser will be a boost for the organization. Blues, Barbeque and Blue Jeans will be held this Saturday at Graystone Farm on Fussell Road in Leesburg.
It's an effort to help beef up the bank account of the Symphony, which has seen donations dwindle in the recession. That puts free programs they offer to the community, like Children's Concert and Peppermint Pops in jeopardy.
Director Claire Fox Hillard said, "So far, we've been able to cut around the edges and not cut any substantial programs, but we want to do everything within our power, in a fun way, to make up that difference and be able to sustain what we're doing in the community."
Tickets are $40 per person and can be order by calling 229-317-6799.
