ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The National Weather Service now says the storm damage in Ben Hill County was caused by a tornado and not straight line winds.

Ben Hill Sheriff Bobby McLemore sent the National Weather Service pictures of tornadoes in the county. The weather service concurred that the damage was caused by twisters.

The sheriff believes there were as many as five tornadoes that damaged more than two dozen homes, businesses and knocked down several trees and power lines.

Power has been restored to everyone who can get it.

And the American Red Cross is still providing food to storm victims.
