An Albany Housing Authority plan to revitalize a central Albany neighborhood gets a stamp of approval from city leaders.  Commissioners approved a resolution of support for the plan to transform McIntosh Homes into a thriving mixed income community called "The Oaks at North Intown".

An Albany City Commissioner thinks he has a compromise in the fight over a road widening project.

People on Old Dawson Road don't want to give up part of their yards for the road widening project. So Commissioner Roger Marietta suggests building roundabouts at busy intersections to accommodate traffic.

Marietta says it could limit the amount of land needed to improve traffic flow.

"When you look at a round about it doesn't really take up much space, just only at the intersection so it would satisfy the land owners that live on each sides and would lower the cost to the county maybe to the city," said Roger Marietta, Ward 4 Commissioner.

Marietta says it's worked in other communities and could alleviate the need for traffic lights.

Dougherty County Commissioners have said they'll look at using transportation sales tax money, if approved by voters, to three-lane Old Dawson Road.
