SWGTC awards $40K in scholarships

Posted: Updated:

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - An education at a two year institution is typically less expensive than one at a four year college, but it can still be hard to afford everything you need to graduate.

Southwest Georgia Technical College awarded $40,000 in scholarships this semester. They pay for costs such as tuition, clinical scrubs, dissection kits, books, and more.

"Our student community is working and they have families so that additional expense to come to college sometimes that's the deciding factor whether they can stay enrolled in the school or in the program or not," said Executive Director of Institutional Advancement & Marketing Amy Maison.

There are scholarships available for Spring Semester which begins January 4th. For more information or to apply call the Institutional Advancement office at 229-227-2415.
