Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler says Georgia's technical colleges will play a vital role in getting people back to work. He says job hunters need to make sure they have the specific skills employers are looking for.

Butler also encourages out-of-work Georgians to take advantage of the help the Labor Department offers. "We're putting an emphasis on putting people back to work, giving them advice for their resume, giving them additional education that they may need or to find the jobs they are looking for we're doing that," Butler said.

Georgia's unemployment rate is 10.2%, well above the national average of 9.1%.
