    The family of a Miller County woman is mourning tonight after GBI investigators say the 58 year old was murdered by her husband, before he took his own life.

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomas County Commissioners voted unanimously this week to fill a position that has been vacant for nearly two years.

Commissioners hired Andrew Sawyer as the new Agriculture County Extension Agent. Sawyer is in the process of moving to Thomasville and will begin working November 1st.

Sawyer has a BS degree in turf management and a masters in plant protection management from UGA.

The county will pay half of Sawyer's $50,000 salary with the remainder paid by the state.
