DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -
A missing Virginia woman has been treated and released from Phoebe Putney Hospital this morning. She was taken there because of high blood pressure issues.
58-year-old Mary Parnell told Dougherty County Police she wasn't missing. But just trying to get away from her husband.
DCP found her sitting in a car around midnight at Morrie's Gas station on Moultrie road. And Parnell told police she was out of gas and waiting for them to open.
Officers say she looked really confused. After running her information, they found Mary Parnell came up listed as a missing person from Marian, Virginia.
Parnell told cops her husband, reported her missing but she wanted out of the marriage. At her request, EMS was called and took Parnell to the hospital, because her blood pressure was extremely high.
She told hospital staff her reason for leaving Virginia, was to get away from an abusive situation. Parnell cashed in her 401K, got on the highway and has been driving ever since.
