VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A suspected drunk driver rear-ended a car at a busy intersection in Valdosta this afternoon and took off.

This is 31-year old Larry Reeves in the back of a police car.

Valdosta Police say he kept going after his Ford Expedition slammed into another car at Park Avenue and Ashley Street about three o'clock.

Witnesses followed him.

A Lowndes County deputy joined the chase and boxed in Reeves at the intersection of Mary and Patterson Streets.

"We got behind it and we chased it several city blocks," said Travis Kemp. "It made several turns at a high speed trying to get away from us and we just stayed behind it and called it into police told them where they were going until they were able to catch him."

Police took Reeves to the Lowndes County Jail where he was booked for D.U.I. leaving the scene of an accident, following too closely, and other traffic violations.

Nobody was hurt.
