Take a walk on the wild side

If you want to take a walk on the wild side, Chehaw has an event just for you.

The Friends of Chehaw will hold the 15th annual Walk on the Wild Side fundraiser Thursday night.

The Darton Jazz Ensemble will start off the evening as guests arrive, with special music later in the program by Brad Hallford.

Area merchants donated items for a silent auction.

This year's event is being catered by Outback Steakhouse and will overlook the Australian exhibit.

"You kind of enjoy the park in the evening, you can walk around and look at the animals when they are at their most active, it is a beautiful outdoor setting as you know, this cold front has moved in, the rain has kicked the dust back, we will have music in the background, great food, beverages, a great time to just come out and enjoy the park and fellowship," says Tom Seegmueller, Friends of Chehaw President.

Tickets are $30 per person and $25 for Friends of Chehaw members.

Tickets are still available.

The event will be Thursday from 6:00-9:00 PM.
