The movie "Courageous",  made by Albany's Sherwood Baptist Church, continues a remarkable run on more than 11-hundred movie screens around the country.

Courageous was the sixth biggest movie at the box office over the weekend with more than 4.8-million dollars in ticket sales.

In the week and half that the movie has been in theaters, it has made 16.1-million dollars.

Church leaders say they are thrilled Courageous has been so well received.

Producer and Writer Stephen Kendrick said "That's two to three million people right now that have already seen "Courageous" across the nation. They have seen our city. They have seen our Sheriff's Office. And it presented them in an honorable way. But also they have been touched by this message about fatherhood. "

Kendrick said he expects Courageous to remain in movie theatres across the country through January.
