ALBANY (WALB) - Albany Police detectives are getting the word out about a reward in an unsolved murder.
DeAndre Williams was shot outside an east Albany nightclub in August but police still have no suspects.
Williams' family is offering a $5,000 reward through CrimeStoppers leading to the arrest and conviction of his killer.
"Sometimes money does a lot of talking. We're hoping it does in this case to help us come to a conclusion on who actually committed this crime," said Detective Arthur Tyler.
In the early morning hours of August 28th, Williams was shot to death outside the Sand Trap Lounge on East Oglethorpe. People were in the area, but no one has come forward with valid information about the killer.
"It happened on the outside of a nightclub there were several people around. That's why we're out here constantly following up on any leads that we may have because somebody knows something," said Tyler.
APD began distributing 200 flyers Monday around Albany to get the message out this case is not closed
"After 48 hours, a case typically goes cold. We don't want this to happen in this case. We know there's someone out there that has information," said APD Media Manager Phyllis Banks.
"We feel like this is a good case and it can be solved. But we haven't been given many leads so we ask for the publics help if they have any information on this homicide to give us a call," Tyler said.
If you have information about the murder of DeAndre Williams, call CrimeStoppers at 229-436-TIPS(8577). You can remain anonymous and still be eligible for the reward.
