Dougherty County Sheriff's Office welcomed members of the community to the second annual Unity for Community Barbeque.

Community members mingled with law enforcement at the ball park on 8th avenue.

Over 500 people came out to play kickball and challenge Sheriff Kevin Sproul to horse shoes and miniature golf.

The community had the opportunity to interact with different law enforcement agencies on a personal level and build a cohesive community.

"We are not out here just to serve BBQ, we are out here to serve them and everything we can do, because this is what the sheriff's office is about, the office of sheriff is the office of the people, and we want people to feel comfortable not only working with the sheriffs office but all the other agencies and organizations that are out here to make this event so successful," says Sheriff Kevin Sproul, Dougherty County Sheriff Department.

Sheriff Sproul says it was a great opportunity for officials to build relationships with community members.
