THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Nearly 30,000 Americans commit suicide every year. To raise awareness, Archbold Northside is holding a "poker run."

This Saturday is the second annual Ride for Awareness.

Motorcyclists get a card at each of five stops during the 80 mile ride that starts in Thomasville, goes through Grady and Mitchell Counties, and finishes back at the Ambulatory Care Center.

"The nice part is at each stop we're also going to give a card that gives information of what to look for with someone who is suicidal and that gives people some information along the way at the same time," said Archbold Northside Administrator.

The cost is $10 for the first poker hand and $5 for each additional hand. All proceeds benefit the Northside Patient Resource Center.

No pre-registration is necessary. Just be at Archbold Northside by nine Saturday morning to sign up. Following the run there will be food, prizes, live music, and a Memory Wall dedication.
