
COLUMBUS, GA (WALB) - The 24th ranked Georgia Southwestern golf team will likely be moving up the NCAA DII polls.
The Hurricanes shot a five-under 279 in the third round to win the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational by five shots at the Country Club of Columbus.
3rd ranked Lynn University was second and 4th ranked Barry was third.
In fact 10 of the top 24 ranked teams in the DII polls were in the field at the Columbus State tournament.
It was the third win this fall for the GSW golf team.
Craig Gibson won the individual title at -2 and teammate Chris Hall was one shot back in second.
J.P. Griffin shot a final round 66 to finish in a tie for third.
Nate Gahman was 21st overall at +7.
The GSW golf team closes out their fall schedule in three weeks at the Laker Invitational in Hampton.
