A school bus rollover is an accident we certainly hope never happens, but if it does, Cook County first responders are ready.
Fifteen students and a bus driver participated in a school bus crash exercise Tuesday. Firefighters even cut through the bus to rescue students.
Some students were treated on scene while others were taken to Memorial Hospital of Adel.
Several agencies took part in the drill.
"If we need to correct any kind of action that we saw from the basic response time all the way down to loading the patients to cutting them out of the bus and it's also for the students if they're on the bus maybe they can help other students in that time," said Cook County EMA Denny Folsom.
Denny Folsom says the drill meets GEMA requirements and it makes sure first responders are ready if something like this ever happens.
