THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Thomas County Sheriff's deputies responded to an RV park at 277 Old Boston Road to investigate a man accused of making threats to kill people.

Michael Lawrence Thompson, an RV park resident, refused to get off the lawn mower he had driven to a service station, and had to be pulled from the machine by officers.

Deputies say after Thompson was handcuffed, he rolled onto his back and made several attempts to kick the deputies. He also attempted to kick out a window in a patrol vehicle.

RV park residents told officers Thompson tried to set fire to a building where his estranged girlfriend lived.

Witnesses said he threatened to kill a 14-year-old juvenile and assaulted him with items from a lawn mower trailer.

Thompson faces many charges, including DUI.
