BLAKELY (WALB) - Early County commissioners voted Monday night to grant a loan to a private company, but not for as much as originally proposed.
Commissioners approved a $250,000 loan to help build the American International Marksmanship Academy.
Last month, the Economic Development Commission asked county leaders for a half-million dollar loan for the project.
Critics say public money shouldn't be used to fund a private venture, but leaders say it will create 37 jobs over the next 5 years.
AIM must pay off the loan at 3% interest over the next five years.
