CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Twenty-two-year-old Varocus Antonio Grant turned himself in to Cordele Police Sunday morning in connection with the death of 30-year-old Travis Sintell Shivers.

Grant is charged with murder and possession of firearm by a convicted felon, and the investigation is still active with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Officials say around 9:30 Saturday night, someone fired several shots at 30-year-old Travis Shivers near a 23rd Avenue apartment.

Shivers was found lying on the sidewalk. He was rushed to Crisp Regional Hospital where he died.

A woman at the scene said Shivers left behind two children.

No motive has been released in the shooting.
