A pedestrian walking in the cross-walk of Jefferson and Oglethorpe was hit by a Dougherty County School Bus at 7:34 AM. The man was rushed to Phoebe Putney Hospital and is said to be OK.
According to DCSS Public Information Officer R. D. Harter, the bus driver, who was attempting to make a left turn, didn't see the man.
The school system says the bus driver, who has a clean driving record will tested for drugs and alcohol.
Every bus driver involved in an accident has to go through that procedure before being allowed back on the school bus.
An APD source said that charges are pending in this case.
