
It's one of the biggest decisions in a high school athlete's life and Thomasville basketball star Willie Clayton got his over and done with even before his senior season. Clayton announced in Thomasville this on Saturday that he has accepted a verbal offer from Charlotte. The 6'8 225 pound Clayton was also considering offers from Florida State, Georgia and Florida but narrowed his choices to Charlotte, Central Florida, South Florida and Mercer. He's ranked as the 47th best power forward in the country by ESPN.
Clayton averaged right around 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs last season. He cannot officially sign with Charlotte until early next year.
