Finalists sang their hearts out to impress judges Saturday at the Albany Star Finale.

14 singers competed in four age groups.

About 300 people gathered to watch the competition at the veteran's amphitheater.

The finalists have already gone through 2 elimination rounds to get to the finale.

Organizers say Albany Star is a great opportunity to highlight the talent in south west Georgia.

"We actually had two last year that have signed recording contracts from our winners last year, so very exciting, great talent, we really want to highlight what we have to offer in south west Georgia," says Suzanne Davis, Albany Parks and Recreation.

"I just love playing and signing with my brother, and then my husband also plays and sings, just to have fun, if something happens, it happens, but if it does not, I am ok with that too, just loving what I do," says Lacey Neil, Winner: 19 yrs old and up.

Winners received gift baskets valued at about one thousand dollars each.

The baskets include four hours in a recording studio and a photo shoot from Yaz Photography, along with fragrances from Dillards and gift certificates to Albany businesses.
