Opening night big success for Sherwood

It looks like Sherwood Church's latest movie is a big hit. "Courageous" opened nationwide Friday.

When we were at the Wynnsong 16 in Albany earlier Friday night and five showings had already sold out. And the theater added shows on two more screens. We're hearing stories of big crowds in other places too.

Some movie goers told us they were thrilled to get to see the locally produced film on opening day.

Movie Fan Erik Pehrsson says, "They called me saying that there are cop cars everywhere and the shows are all sold out, and I should go back home because I'm wasting my time;  But I got a ticket for the 6:30."

The movie is about how four law officers learn to be better fathers. The Dougherty County Sheriff's Office worked closely with producers.

Sheriff Kevin Sproul brought some patrol cars to the theater tonight to help promote the movie. Some of the stars were there as well.
