After eight years of work, there's a new place to call home in Sylvester.

The ribbon was cut Thursday on the Paradise Estates Apartment on West Pine Street.

The 50 unit complex has plenty of amenities to offer including a playground area, a water fountain for children, laundry rooms, and a tennis court.

Complex managers say the complex is open for mixed income clientele.

"It's actually for very low to moderate incomes and some are even at market rate. So there is a mixture. You don't have to be just a single parent. You can be married with children or just a single person," said Manager Beverly Darton.

$6-million in federal stimulus money was used to finish the project.
