Albany church's latest movie will hit theaters around the country Friday.

"Courageous" is the fourth film produced by Sherwood Baptist Church, well known for previous films "Facing the Giants" and "Fireproof."

This movie is by far the biggest of the Sherwood films, with a one million dollar filming budget. But like all the church's films, they used volunteer church members as actors and crew.

Minister Alex Kendrick co-wrote, directed, and stars in "Courageous," and says he'll measure the movie's success by the impact it has on people's lives.

"We want it to be entertaining. But at the same time we want to change them as they walk out, and give them some inspiration and hope. So for us, we're not trying to compete with Hollywood, we're just trying to make good movies that impact the world," said Kendrick.

Courageous will open Friday at 1,100 theatres in the United States and Canada.

In November, it will open in Mexico, South Africa,  Nigeria, and New Zealand.
