An early morning grease fire at Willow Wood apartment complex leaves a family homeless.
Albany Fire Battalion Chief C. E. Haynes says it all started around 4:20 Thursday morning.
We're told it started in apartment D with a grease fire on the stove. The flames then traveled to the roof and quickly engulfed the roof of Apartment C.
The smoke was so thick the other two apartments on that row had to be evacuated. Everybody made it out safe and no was hurt.
The Red Cross gave motel vouchers to the family displaced by the fire.
