Albany church burglarized overnight

By Ryan Houston

ALBANY- Albany Police are searching for a burglar who broke into the Liberty Cathedral Church this morning.

APD first got the 911 call around one.

After arriving, police noticed a window to the secretary's office was broken.

Pastor Michael White says the crook stole the church's computer and flat screen TV.

The items are valued at $3,500.

WALB was there as police recovered the hard drive to the computer and as they searched for fingerprints and other evidence.

Pastor White plans to send up a prayer for those who took from God's house.

He says, "these are the times we're living in, where it seems there's no regard for God's house." He added that, "we just pray for those individuals that would do such, and that hopefully they would get themselves together."

White has been the pastor for 5 years and nothing like this has happened before.

The church has surveillance cameras.

We're told police will try to see if the cameras caught the burglar in the act.
