DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA -

Dougherty County Commissioners voted unanimously Monday not to grant an alcohol license to a bar because the owner planned to hire a convicted felon to manage it.

Ulysee James, Jr. applied for the license for the Parisian Bar and Lounge on Liberty Expressway.

He named James Preston Nix III as bar manager.

Nix has several criminal convictions including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.  County leaders will reconsider the alcohol license application once James hires a new manager.
