Patriots beat up on Trojans at Hugh Mills

It was a battle of the east side against the west side Saturday night in Albany as Westover and Dougherty opened up region 1-AAA play. Westover shut out Dougherty last year at Hugh Mills and followed that up with another shut out beating the Trojans 47-0. Early in the 1st quarter Westover's Shannon Saunders busted through the Trojan defensive line and secondary for the first score of the game.

On the Patriots' next possession T.J Wester went deep down the right sideline to Jackie Childs who made the catch in Trojan territory before being knocked out of bounds. A few plays later Wester lofted it to Childs on a fade route into the end zone for a touchdown.

Westover cruised to a 47-0 victory.  The Patriots improve to 3-2, they'll host Worth County on Thursday night. Meanwhile, the Trojans fall to 1-4 and will play at Crisp County on Friday.
