Four hundred runners from 18 different schools dawned on Albany Saturday morning for the Deerfield-Windsor "Fish Camp Frolic" cross country meet. The Knights delivered a pretty good showing. The girls varsity team finished in 1st place with a score of 62. Senior McKenzie Davis crossed the finish line 1st after the 3.1 mile race in 19:39.
The Deerfield Boys varsity finished 5th. Marcus Guthro led the way finishing in 18:46. The Mt. De Sales boys varsity took home 1st place. Deerfield Windsor head coach Cathy Jones says she was more than pleased with her team's performance.
Jones said "These kids are dedicated and you see the results at the finish line when we do quite well. We're proud of all the kids that came out today but especially proud of our own children."
The Knights' next meet will be on October 6th at Mt. De Sales.
