SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) –  Some south Georgians are stepping on the gas pedal to raise money for education.

Sunbelt Ford of Sylvester teamed up with Worth County High School to try and raise up to $8,000 for student groups and athletes.

Ford & Sunbelt Ford in Sylvester, donated the money and time for the event.

If up to 300 people drove, the school could have a chance to raise up to $8,000.

"We use this to support our student organizations at the high school," said Assistant Principal, Scott Chafin. "All of our clubs are here and they use this money to support student activities at the high school."

This is the third time they've held the Drive One fundraiser. It's brought in $18,000 for Worth County High School already. They plan to hold another event in the spring.
