Exchange Club of Albany celebrates 75 years

One of Albany's largest and most active service organizations celebrated its 75th birthday Friday.

The Exchange Club of Albany was formed September 18th, 1936.

Most of their 170 current members celebrated at their weekly meeting. The club's oldest and second longest serving member, 93-year old Marvin Lorig, was honored.  He's been in the Exchange Club for 56 years.  " I don't know how many organizations we give checks to. And every little bit helps too, now anyway. That's what we work for, to help Albany and Dougherty County and surrounding areas," said Lorig.

The National Exchange Club President, Sidney T. Mobley, spoke at the club's celebration.  The Exchange Club has hosted the Southwest Georgia fair for 64 years. The 65th Exchange Club Fair opens November 1st.
