The U.S. Supreme Court found there was enough evidence to deny clemency for Troy Davis. Family of slain officer Mark Mcphail think Davis was guilty.
However his supporters thought otherwise. There's been a lot of back and forth on this case especially in the courts.
Seven of the nine witnesses recanted their earlier testimony. Last night was Troy Davis's fourth execution date. He was granted stays by the court up until last night.
According to national media, four hours went by as Davis, was strapped in the gurney awaiting word from the supreme court.
He spent 22 years on death row before being executed last night.
