VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
Some Valdosta High Students are raising money for homeless children by having a fashion show.
The girls found out there were 164 homeless children in the city school system last year.
On Thursday at the Hilton Garden Inn, they're having a fashion show to show off their old homecoming and prom dresses to collect money for children in need.
"Although they receive grants from the government to pay for tutors and school supplies," said Tumise Asebiomo. "They don't have money for their daily essentials such as clothes, food glasses."
Tickets are five dollars for the charity fashion show.
The event - Glamour & Glitz: A Red Carpet Affair - will be held on September 22, 2011 at the Hilton Garden Inn starting a 6:00 PM. The models will be junior and senior girls from the local high schools and proceeds from the event will go to homeless children in our city. You can purchase tickets at the door.
