ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A trial begins this week in Albany for a big eye sore that's been condemned for more than 15 years.

The owners of the Heritage house and attorneys with the city will be in court Monday morning discussing plans for the abandoned building on Oglethorpe boulevard.

The city says the building, which has asbestos, is not up to code and needs to be torn down.

The owner, Greenbriar Holdings, says the structure can be saved. It's appealing the municipal court order to tear it down.
