Dozens of law enforcers and people who want safe streets in their community picked up golf clubs Friday to fight crime.

A full field of 97 golfers took part in the 4th Annual Albany Area Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament at the Grand Island Golf Club.

Their contributions will raise $3,500, that will be used to pay rewards to tipsters who call the anonymous crime tip line.

The tournament this year is being played in memory of Dougherty County Lt. Cliff Rouse, who was killed in late December chasing an armed robbery suspect.
