Knights face early season region test

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It is still early in the high school football season.

The defending GISA state champion Deerfield-Windsor Knights face a key region battle on their home field Friday night.

The Knights will host Bulloch Academy.

Both of these teams are unbeaten in region play and coach Allen Lowe believes the outcome of this game could be critical at the end of the season when it comes to determining the region champion.

Deerfield-Windsor won last year in Statesboro 19-0 in what was described as a very physical game.

The Knights, who do have some injury concerns, are expecting another hard hitting game with the Gators.

Allen Lowe said. "They have a good solid line of scrimmage. They also have two or three skill athletes that are very good and very talented. It is going to be a test for us. To try for number one move the ball consistently and otherwise try to stop them too."

Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Webb Stadium and you can watch the highlights at 11:00 on WALB News 10's Locker Room Report.
