Many families are also struggling with their finances due to high unemployment rates and a failing economy. Many are losing their homes, cars, and sense of livelihood. 

Some got a little help Thursday night in downtown Albany. They attended a seminar called "When your income drops."

"These are skills that people can learn, and we are here to help people because I work with people in bankruptcy all the time, and often people wait to late," says presenter Suzanne Williams.

The seminar helped people analyze their income and assets and evaluate the best ways to get out of debt.
