The Georgia Southern Eagles have soared up the FCS coaches poll and now have the top spot. The Eagles are now ranked #1 in the both the FCS poll and FCS Coaches poll after beating up on Tusculum 62-21 this weekend. This is the first time since 2001 that Southern has been ranked this high.
The 2001 Eagles remained #1 following its 2000 National Championship and started the season 7-0 before losing to East Tennessee State 19-16. The team is currently 2-0 and has the week off before hosting Western Carolina on September 24th at Paulson Stadium in Statesboro.
