Keeping Albany-Dougherty Beautiful

Volunteers are cleaning up tons of trash in and around Albany.

Dougherty County Commissioners got an annual report Monday from Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful.

The director says volunteers removed three tons of debris from river banks and tributaries and there currently are no pending graffiti removals.

"I would like for every citizen to be involved because it's your community. How we look is a reflection on everyone of us. How this community looks is an economic development issue. If we want new businesses to come in we need to look good," said Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful Executive Director Judy Bowles.

Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful will host a prescription drug drop off and electronics recycling event this Saturday.

You can drop those items at the parking lot behind the civic center.
