Another continuing crime problem in Albany, vagrants moving into vacant homes and setting them on fire.

Just before two Monday afternoon smoke billowed from this vacant home in the 800 block of Dorsett Avenue.

Firefighters sprayed water into the attic to battle the flames.

The home was supposed to be empty, but firefighters found some furniture inside.

Assistant  Chief Allen Cravey said  "It had the fire in the rear portion of the house. We're real early into the fire, and have not been able to get in throughout the house. But it does no appear anybody is in there."

There was no power in the home.

Fire officials continue their investigation.
