ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Nearly 34,000 American men die each year from prostate cancer. Many deaths could be prevented.

Early detection is the key. Doctors and nurses will provide prostate screenings from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Saturday in Phoebe Medical Tower one.

Prostate Cancer in its early stages usually has no symptoms.

"In order to treat it effectively, we need to treat it early," said Radiation Oncology Physician, Jay Mcafee. "We have a lot of good treatment options. Through the advancement of technology, we are seeing better outcomes and less side affects as we successfully treat Prostate Cancer."

Prostate Cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men in the U.S. behind lung cancer.
