    Officers are investigating an apparent self-inflicted gun-shot at the Oasis Store at 1301 South Slappey Blvd. This is near the intersection of Centennial Avenue. WALB is on scene and will have more information

A pilot recycling program kicked off Friday in Albany with quite a bit of enthusiasm.

Two Albany schools are leading the project to recycle waste paper. Keep Albany Beautiful is supplying special containers for each classroom.

Kick off assemblies were held Friday at Turner Elementary and Deerfield Lower school.

The young people are learning to be good stewards of the Earth and making themselves good examples for the rest of us.
