Posted: Updated:

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Westover High head coach Octavia Jones say with so many people having trouble pronouncing the first name of his top running back Dalviness Greene.

The Patriots are now calling him by his middle name Deion.

We are calling Deion Greene our WALB Albany Area Player of the Week.

Dr. Tim Darden made the presentation to Deion at the Orthopaedic Associates Clinic Thursday morning.

Deion Greene ran for 276 yards and scored both touchdowns in Westover's win over Albany High on Saturday.

Greene has rushed for 476 yards in his first two games.

The junior running back says he is not doing it all by himself.

Deion Greene said. "I feel like it was just a blessing to go out and play that good. My offensive line was blocking real good for me. My fullback McKinney Martin was firing off the ball real good. We just had a good night."

Westover hosts Bainbridge in a battle of unbeatens Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Hugh Mills Stadium.
