We now know a Moultrie man killed by a SWAT officer was shot twice in the chest.
That's what the autopsy on 51-year-old Walter Wayne Peterson showed. He was shot Monday afternoon when he came at officers with a knife in the doorway of his Seventh Street Northwest home.
GBI agents and Moultrie Police continue to refuse to identify the officer who shot Peterson.
Investigators previously told us an attempt to subdue Peterson with a stun gun was unsuccessful.
A group of citizens concerned about the shooting met Thursday afternoon in Moultrie. We'll have more on that at eleven.
Eyewitnesses report Peterson threw a brick through the front door of the Best Little Store in Georgia before the SWAT standoff.
