Community cuts ribbon to new bank

A new Lee County bank celebrated its opening today.

This HeritageBank on Heritage Lane in Lee County has been open for almost a month, but officially cut the ribbon today.

The Albany-based bank continues to grow at a time when many banks are struggling.

Heritage officials say this branch will accommodate more of their customers.

"Well hopefully it means better service for them. It will be more convenient for them. I think everybody knows the 19th quarter between Albany and Leesburg is just booming and we hope this provides a service to the community here," said HeritageBank's Lee County Marketing Manager Jimmy Wilson.

Representatives say more branches are expected to open in the near future.
