Rain did not ruin Labor Day celebrations

Scattered rainfall in Albany did not postpone Labor Day celebrations.

Families came out to Chehaw Park to celebrate the three day weekend, in spite of the rainy conditions.

The Starling family did not let the rainy conditions ruin their Labor Day.

"We are just out here camping, trying to enjoy the three day vacation weekend," says Donnie Starling.

Donnie Starling set up camp at Chehaw park with his family.

"We come to let her ride her bicycle up and down the road, she played with other kids," says Donnie Starling.

Jessica Owens and her two sons, drove an hour to Chehaw Park, even thought she knew it would rain.

"The boys were really excited to go so we did not want to let them down, so we thought we would tough it out," says Jessica Owens.

And the rain did not stop the kids from having fun.

"I like to play outside," says Ansleigh Starling.

"We knew it was like a 70% chance of rain but it is a three day weekend, and we always go somewhere, camping," says Dawn Starling.

When it rained too hard, they took shelter inside their camper.

"It stopped us a little, kept us in doors for a little while, but we made it our every chance we got," says Donnie Starling.

And he says even though it might not have been perfect weather conditions for camping, it was still better than being at work.
